Reliability of These Injured Starters?

Postby buckfever1974 » Mon Mar 17, 2014 10:57 pm

I'm in one of those leagues where owners will treat players with the red cross next to their name like they are leppers. How long do you think these "leppers" will be out, how safe are they when they come back and Where would you draft these guys among starters?

Matt Latos
Mike Minor
Homer Bailey
Anibal Sanchez
Cole Hamels
Doug Fister

Are Latos, Minor, Sanchez safe as #2s?

I feel pretty confident in Matt Latos, Homer Bailey, and Doug Fister. Latos will hopefully just miss one start and at this point I think the other two will be fine to start the year.

Minor and Sanchez should be fine, and at this point the injuries don't sound too alarming. However anytime there is a shoulder injury there's worry. I've bumped them down my rankings a bit from where they were. I have Sanchez as my SP#17 and Minor as my SP#32.

Hamels is still excepted to miss a month I think, so I've bumped him down a bit more. In HTH leagues with playoffs I'd still fee comfortable taking him in my top-15 SPs since he should hopefully be healthy during your stretch run. In roto I'd bump him down to #20, between Gio Gonzalez and James Shields.
