Accept this deal? WHIR 100%

Postby jruffus1 » Sun Mar 16, 2014 10:58 pm

I am in a 12-team H2H keeper league (5-5). We keep players in exchange for their previous year's pick. I've been trying to upgrade the 1st base position. Is my pitching strong enough without Gray (a few of my SPs are hurting).

I Give:

McCann (who can be kept next year, but only next year, for a 23rd round pick)
S Gray

I get:

S Perez
A Gonzalez

My current roster:

C - McCann
1st - Rizzo
2nd - Lawrie
3rd - Bogaerts
SS - Tulo
OF - J Upton
OF - Ellsbury
OF - Bautista
Util - Segura

Bench: C Crawford

SPs:

Cain
Minor
Cole
Liriano
Iwakuma
Cingrani
Fister
Gray

I would probably stick with McCann. Unless you have absolutely no faith in Rizzo at 1B you would be benching a really good player everyday. Having to play Segura in the UT spot until Tulo gets injured.

help on mine?

Lateral move at catcher and though a nice upgrade at 1b, I like Gray this year. Your pitching is a bit on the hurt side right now I would stay put.

If you still are thinking about taking the deal, the best theory in my mind if you don't want to stay put would be to package Mccann, and Rizzo (i don't have faith in him one bit, and he's good trade bait). for AGon, and a solid SP because as this post has been talked about, your pitching is struggling right now. then you would just have to worry about getting a catcher in the draft. 2 catchers that are really under-rated this year are Lucroy, and Rosario if you could grab them.
