Pitching Categories

Postby down.by.law » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:17 am

Hello. Our league is a H2H, 10x10 league. We wanted to delete Wins in favor of QS, but need to add another positive pitching category. Thinking about OBA or BAA, but we have WHIP. Is there much of a difference between those percentages?

H R 2B HR TB RBI BB K SB AVG BB K QS CG W L SV ERA WHIP K/9

Thanks

OBA would be close to WHIP but BAA might have some variance. Are you sure it has to be a positive cat? I was thinking HR would be an appropriate one.

Otherwise, it occurs to me that 9 pitching cats looks like an incentive to punt saves. You could rectify this by increasing the importance of closers by adding SV-BS, which would mean you have two cats contributed to exclusively by closers. Or alternately you add a holds category, which would put closers and setup men on about equal footing in your league. Shutouts is another idea.
