Minor league trade

Postby Surfs up » Fri Feb 28, 2014 11:12 am

I have Addison Russell and another manager asked if I would trade him. I said I would consider it but it would cost Byron Buxton. Did I speak to quick? should I keep Russell ? Jed Lowrie is a FA after this season and that most likely will be Russells job to lose. who would you rather have? It doesn't cost anything to keep minor leaguers on our team. But we have to activate the to the major league roster if they are up more than two weeks during the season except Sept. is a free month. They remain a minor leaguer. Thoughts?

I like Russell, a future 20/20 guy.
But no one on their right mind trades Buxton, who is well beyond any other prospect.

Buxton is the consensus top prospect in the game so if you can trade any other single prospect for him, you probably should.

I like Russell... but if you can grab Buxton, you have to do it!

He has changed his mind and wants to keep Buxton. But I'm just as glad. Call me crazy but I think Russell ends up the better player. Not this year but next year. Plus sbeing a shortstop won't hurt his value.
Thanks for the imput. ;-D

I'll call you crazy then. Buxton projects to be a McCutchen+ Addison Russell isn't even the 1st or 2nd best SS prospect - Correa and Baez I have ranked higher than him.

Russell is in the top #10 on a number of prospect lists so there isn't a huge difference between the two.
