Keepers due in 3 Days...Experts Help!

Postby bradlee » Sun Feb 23, 2014 1:52 pm

We keep three players in the ROUND they were drafted in last year. So I drafted Mike Trout in the 19th round two years ago so I can keep him as my 19th round pick for this year.

14 Team 6x6 League Roto with OPS and QS.

Which two should I keep with Trout?

Player / Round/ *=Years Left to Keep

Paul Goldschmidt 2nd**
Andrew McCutchen 2nd*
Jason Kipnis 14th*
Ian Desmond 16th*
Anthony Rizzo 24th*

What would happen if you kept both Goldschmidt and Cutch since they both have 2nd rounders tied to them? Having your first three picks be Trout, Goldy, and Cutch as your would be awesome. Desmond and Kipnis also have great value with their rounds. If you can only keep one of the 2nd rounders I would lean Desmond as I'm not a huge fan of Kipnis. I don't think you can go wrong with either though.

So I go Trout, Goldy, Cutch if you can. If not Trout, Goldy, Desmond.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply!

If I kept both Goldschmidt and Cutch, I would lose my 2nd, 3rd and 8th round pick. So while I could keep both the penalty is not worth it.

I think it is Desmond or Cutch; if you are set against Cutch which really isn't too bad of a penalty then Desmond. Still having 3 of the top 4 players in fantasy plus an additional first round pick sounds too good to pass up to me

I love Cutch, but hard to lose my 3rd and 8th round pick. I feel that Desmond/Kipnis offer much better value in 16th and 14th round.

When I started, I was think Kipnis/Desmond and Trout. Then Goldy had a great year and I cant see letting him go.

The penalty is tough, so I think it's Goldy or McCutch. The extra season of Goldschmidt makes this a really easy decision.

On top of that, I probably keep Kipnis here. Can't go wrong if it's Desmond, but there's very few 2B I feel comfortable with this year. He's one of them. I know SS is thin too, but there's a number of options for you.
