how to dominate a roto league

Postby bigpapi3434 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 3:24 pm

ive always wondered if there was a formula, as far as how many power hitters and speedsters ect to have on a team, i know its bad to overload on one of them, i usually stick to 3 power hitters and 2 speedsters as well as 2 strikeout pitchers. then fill in the rest of the spots with good players. my leagues are standard 12 team.
reason i ask last year the guy that won had 6 closers and 2 starters and crushed us all and won by 20 pts

Fantasy is about getting more in return that what you paid. Therefore, paying top dollar for what is someone's ceiling is to be avoided IN MOST CASES. Obviously, Trout is Trout but getting Harper where you get to pick again long before the guy that took Trout and possibly getting close to Trout value is how to win ROTO. Find guys that you are not paying for their ceiling, that simple. Pay for their floor and hope for the ceiling.

where did he finish in K's and wins? do you have an innings minimum? pretty much you want to draft power and find pitching as the season goes. don't pay for saves
his 2 sp 6 closers wouldn't work in most settings

It was standard Yahoo league. I just though that was extremely abnormal. I had more k's wins hrs and sb and I was 25 pts behind he obviously had more saves and a better avg. I was thinking did he find a way to win with closers as opposed to traditional drafting
