16-team ROTO 5x5 where we use K/BB instead of Runs. Two catcher league.
Braun $34 Cano $33
Both guys have their question marks. Will Braun be worth that much with everything that's gone down? How will Cano fare in Seattle? Would either be worth keeping, or else throw both back and use that money elsewhere?
Keepers already (Still debatable): Mauer $21, Craig $10, Iwakuma $12, Wacha $12 (Maybe Hardy at $13? We got him for $10 last season)
Any input would be great. Thanks!
Edit: Some guaranteed players to be in the draft pool:
I would keep Cano still. What did he have in NY last year? Nobody. The lineup in Seattle is actually better than what the Yanks could field last year, and he'll be in the 3 hole where he can be in more of a run producing position. Yanks batted him 2nd 42 games last year and he still hit 100+ RBI with no protection around him. Plus, all his HR except 2 wouldve went out at Safeco. Keep him with confidence.
Braun, I mean he can definitely produce at a high level and be worth this cost. However, with your other keepers you'll be in a rough spot on the rest of the roster, assuming this cap is $260. I'd keep Cano and let Braun go back. You can always rebid on Braun.
Cano is a keeper at that price, though Safeco is where hitters go to die (just ask Beltre and others) and there is no short porch in right field where the ball carries as well. Add in a lot more games in a pitcher's park like Oakland. And while it can't get much worse than what the Yanks were parading out there on offense in 2013, the current starting 9 for Seatle are:
Cano Zunino Smoak Miller Seager Morrison Ackley Saunders Hart\Gutierrez?
tough here because you don't have any super bargains; Mauer prob has as much value in this format as any at least for this year. Generally I'd prefer to toss anyone back who I think I could get back for the same price; you could keep the other 4 and toss both expensive players back or keep 3/4. Craig is in and after that you aren't gaining or losing much. No $1-$2 players?
