Cruz
Venable
Gattis

I wouldn't mess with Crawford, he's going to lose ABS with having 4 OF.

Gardner may not get a full season of ABs with Beltran/Soriano/Ellsbury in that outfield.

I'd take Cruz and then either Rasmus or Calhoun. Rasmus has great power upside, Calhoun could be a good 5x5 guy leading off for the Angels this year.

Any love for taking a chance on bounce backs from Upton, Swisher and Fowler? I am seriously considering going with Upton with Gattis, Rasmus, Cruz, or Venable. I need some more advice. Which two would you pick now and since there are so many question mark OF left should I go with a second closer first like Reed or Street with the next pick? Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

I'm going to throw a wrench into it then... I really like Calhoun and Khris Davis. I think you can wait on Davis a little, but Calhoun seems like a really solid option leading off in front of Trout.

Thing with Cruz is, who is he playing for? It changes everything with him. If he goes back to Texas, awesome. If he goes to Seattle? Ehhhh....

I would say Gardner and Calhoun. Then get Khris Davis a few rounds later and essentially take the gamble on Cruz numbers with him.

BJ Upton I'm confident in some sort of rebound, but I think he's going to plummet so I'd wait on him.

You think Gardner will lose any playing time in New York with that revamped lineup? I am just a little worried about this.

Bourn or Revere (I like Bourn to bounce back and have solid numbers leading off) & then Cruz or Calhoun.
I haven't seen any signs of Upton turning it around. If he doesn't, you should have known better. If he does, how could you have known?

I highly doubt Gardner loses playing time for a number of reasons:
1) Ellsbury has an injury history and Beltran is pretty old. I hope both play a full season, but the odds aren't extremely high that will happen.
2) Gardner is arguably the best defender they have in the OF. With how sketchy their IF defense will be, they need the strongest OF defense they can find.
3) Gardner has most versatile to shift between the three OF spots.
4) Gardner still represents the best trade chip the Yankees have. It will hurt his trade value if they aren't playing him full-time.
5) If he gets traded, the team trading for him won't do so just to put him on the bench.

That said, I would go take one speed guy and one power guy. Probably either Gardner/Swisher or Cruz/Bourn. I like Calhoun and Davis as well, but I think you can get them later in the draft. That said, you might be able to get Gardner/Swisher a little later as well, so maybe Cruz/Bourn is the best option.
