Joint AL and NL only leagues?

Postby CStory » Sun Feb 09, 2014 8:14 pm

Hey everyone,

I've heard in the past about people running joint AL and NL only leagues, same 12 owners but two completely separate drafts and leagues. And then the winner is the overall point total between the two leagues. I was trying to find some rules on how these are run but I couldn't seem to find anything when I googled it. Anyone have experience with this setup and want to share how they do it? Or if someone has a link to a site with info that would be great too.

Thanks!!

I run one, H2H

Same owners 2 drafts back to back.

if you own a guy in one and he gets traded to the other (or cut and picked up) you retain rights to him in the other league. Dont think or know if every league would do that though.

We do 6x5 in the AL (walks) and 5x6 in the NL (holds) and we have a util in AL and one less pitcher starting slot and in NL no util and one more pitcher starting slot

we have five prizes-
Overall best performer (across both leagues)
AL tourney winner
NL tourney winner
win money back consolation brackets

I run a 16 team league with 8 teams that draft AL Only players and 8 teams that draft NL only players. The teams play in their own league plus in the other league during the year. The playoffs determine one champion for the whole 16 teams.
