Getting to that point in the draft where league's are often won and lost 8-o

Okay I PM´d a list to Rich to draft for me in my absence. I was hoping to make my pick here shortly but this is the last time I´ll be at an internet cafe. I´ll try and check from my phone and make the pick if I see that I´m up before Rich does. But the internet is spotty and I´ll be in the air tomorrow. Home tomorrow night around 9ish west coast time. Thanks to Rich. Cheers!

Got it. Whenever it's Ghost's turn, whoever is before/after just PM me instead.

Well what a coincidence, I have RBV's picks locked & loaded, so ditto on the pm-ing. All we need is rockets to show for some progress to occur.

I'm really surprised Papelbon fell to me. Is everyone really that down on him? I mean he did lose some velocity and he isn't as dominant as he once was, but he is still solid with almost no chance of losing his gig.

What's the beef?

I think there's at least a chance that he gets dealt to another team at the deadline, which might stick him in the 8th inning depending on the team. Other than that, not sure. I'm holding off on closers in general.

My thoughts are that in order to trade that big contract he would have be performing well as a closer and the team buying would likely use him as a closer. If he is performing poorly to be put in an 8th inning role I don't think he would be traded unless the phillies eat a ton some salary, but I can't see that happening.

I can understand holding off on closers though, just curious what people think of him comparatively.

I still like Papelbon too, would have liked to have gotten him this round.

Frieri would have been my next choice. But I have Papelbon a good few pitchers ahead of him so I couldn't pass.
