Strasburg for Cy Young

Postby PGAwesome » Wed Jan 29, 2014 12:45 pm

I think Strasburg is far enough away from TJS that he will make 33 starts and pitch 200+ innings this year. I think Strasburg's skill-set is superior to Clayton Kershaw's, and he post 200+ innings around 2.50 ERA, 200+ Ks, and upwards of 20 wins. Check out my analysis here:

If the Nationals make the playoffs, I think he can probably win it. But he has to have a great season along with the Nationals having a great season.

I'd like to see Madison Bumgarner in the running. 3 very young pitchers. And 2 lefties!!!

Don't forget about Jose Fernandez. It's possible he could best all of them.

I'm in a points league, and Encarnacion had the 3rd most points in the league last year (and one of the tops in 2012 as well) next to two guys name Trout and Cabrera, and he is 3B eligible.

Am I nuts to keep him over Stras?

Its a daily league with 5 sp,3sp,2P, 5 bench spots, c,1b,2b,ss,3b,ci,mi,util,(6)of
My other keepers are Kershaw and McCutchen.

Thanks

I would keep Straus although I usually keep batters over pitchers but Straus is funner to own!

If you are only worried about having fun then take Straus. If it's a money league take Encarnacion.

Strasburg is a great pitcher no doubt, but I have not seen the talent he possessed when he came up in his rookie season. I'm not sure a CY will ever be in his future and think he's the most overrated "ace" in baseball.
