Thats what happens in a keeper league and you have no keepers. :-D

This is what happens in a free keeper league where you're not putting up money forcing you to play for this year or pay for it and hope you can afford to play for next year. When it costs your hard earned cash you don't reach for the youngsters as easily.

What's the definition for "curmudgeon"? :-D

Seriously though, we should try to organize a cafe-based cash league, I'd be in for that and see who can put their money where their mouth is.

Seriously though there's only 2 friggn' bench spots how many young guys that may or may not have a full time job can you roster before you're just packing it in hoping for next year before this one even starts.

Go look at my roster, I agree with you. I'm playing to win this year.

I'd really like to do it as a live & in person draft, but it's kind of late to get organized.

Agreed, but it's never too early to start thinking about setting it up for next year, finding dedicated people willing to travel a bit to make it happen, come up with rules, etc.

I agree. I am surprised because none of these guys are likely to be on the opening day roster so how long are you willing to keep a guy on your bench. Part of the thinking probably goes into the fact that free agents pickups cost $10 so if they break surprise then you can keep that much longer.

I have never bought into the pay league thing. I think you can find leagues that people will try in regardless if money is involved or not. And some owners just like the prospect thing and they are going to draft youngsters anyway. It just might work out for them. In the end it leaves me with a better chance of getting the guys I want.

What are you guys talking about? I've only seen 2 minor leaguers so far. Castellanos and Abreu are 3 and 4, but they're on the opening day roster.
