What are the Pros and Cons of Fantrax?

Postby sayheykid24 » Fri Jan 24, 2014 4:46 pm

We have an auction keeper league in CBS. It's ok, but don't think it's worth $160, especially for the lack of support. I've heard fantrax is good. Can anyone that's played a full season in there provide any feedback please?

It doesn't support Auction. As far as I know, CBS is the only was that does.

We went to Frantrax for a year and quickly moved back to CBS. It didnt support auction at the time and this was 2-3 years about.
Our biggest complaint was the interface just wasnt user friendly. P two start status was ugly and lineup changes in general just werent as easy to identify the best player to start. I agree the cost of CBS is high but over 10-12 teams is isnt as bad....JMO

I disagree, the user interface is very good, they have free, very customizable league settings, all minor league prospects, with minor roster spots, and year round access. They also have
a Premium League where you can trade draft choices, and other great features for keeper and dynasty leagues....only $80.00 per league....I say try a free league....just learn the "menues",
that drop down and shows you where to find everything.

Okay, I was actually going to post a question about this exact same thing.

We have a dynasty league, but the Commissioners handle all the transactions.

We have paid the $160 for the past 6 years but the only features we really need are expanded number of teams (28)... 25-man roster capability, expanded positions like MI, CI, CF, etc... also most of the minor leaguers and extra and customizable stat categories like K/BB, HOLDS, etc. Really all of the other crap we handle on a forum off-site, so if you look at it we are paying $160 for hardly anything... that could go back into the prize pool.

Am I missing anything? Can fantrax handle all these specs?

Yes, they (Fantrax) can handle that easily, even in the free leagues, they also have a league chat client on the League page , and League forums.....you dont even need an offsite place, other than for auctions, which they are suppose to have soon.....Great customer service....and the website looks great on my phone...even the draft room. (I have Android )

It doesn't handle Auction. You better be sure before you change.

While Fantrax doesn't currently handle auction they are a very good site for your league. We have been moving more and more of our leagues to Fantrax because of the lack of support from CBS, high fees, etc. While the interface may not be as user friendly (social media style) as CBS, Fantrax offers many more features.

We have done our auctions (slow and live) on http://couchmanagers.com/ for a few bucks and then imported the rosters to Fantrax and ran the leagues there.

We've ran our dynasty league on fantrax for 3 years now and I have no complaints.
