how did he look today, could not watch the game. Did he look like the stud he was last year, or is he going to be a big flop compared to last year?

Wasn't spectacular, but then again, who has been so far? The first win on his way to another 20+ win season. Yeeeeeeehaw!

As a Loaiza supporter and owner, I wasn't impressed. I watched some of the game on mlb.tv, and as you could see by his walk total, his command was off. Also only 2 Ks. His stuff looked good though, but i have no means of comparison to last year. Maybe he was nervous coz he was trying to prove the doubters wrong that he was a fluke. But overall, NOT a good start. Too many walks, not enough K's, and gave up a homer. He was pretty lucky to only give up 3 runs. But i'm not worried, like i wouldn't be for any pitcher after 1 start.

He is not going to have another sick season last year, because he isn't catching hitters off guard with two new pitches this season as he was last season. As of last year, he is a better pitcher than he was in 2002 and before that, but he's not an upper calibre pitcher. He's surely have between 10 and 18 wins this season, and that's a pretty large range to be safe.
