Roto Keepers

Postby Philly_05 » Fri Dec 20, 2013 1:43 pm

12 Teams Roto league finished in 2nd place 13.5 back of 1st place. We get to keep as many as we like. Each season the players move up 2 rounds. We must drop our 1st and 2nd round picks each season. I had issues all season with HR, RBI and SV. I was very strong in R, SB, AVG, W, K, ERA, HLD and WHIP all season.

I'm actually okay with all of these. I'd take that round 20 flyer on Salazar as well. Someone like Kenley looks kind of market value when thinking about a straight redraft, but when you take into consideration the amount of talent that will already be off of the board it's probably more of the equivalent of a 10th round pick.If you could find any takers on Dom Brown or Jennings I would consider moving those guys for a corner infielder.

I could do Salazar at 19 and keep Yellich at 20. Or would you flip them around? Both were free agent adds. So they go in at the lowest slot available.

Yeah I think I would add Johnson to this list as well.

Yeah I can keep all of them. It would just be at a lesser value on Johnson than normal. I would have to slot him in as 18th round instead of 24th. You can't have guys in the same round so they just bump up. Since I have..

24th Round - Profar
23rd Round - Shelby
22nd Round - Trout
21st Round - Moore
20th Round - Yellich
19th Round - Salazar
18th Round - Johnson

19th Round - Salazar
18th Round - Johnson

Yeah but what kind of player do you think you are going to get in the 18th round? Not sure on keepers but the way things look, I would be surprised if he was still on the board with an 18th pick.

Yeah I think it's good value in the 18th. Not really going to find anything else better unless I get really lucky. I know I have struggled recently trying to fill all my infield spots with quality players. With teams having a possibly 8 INF spots in use it makes it hard sometimes. He won't give me much in HR/RBI but hopefully he can help my average.

From what I have read in your post above I would not hesitate to take texiera in the 5th. You said yourself that HR and RBI were a big problem for you. Well when the big man is on the field that's all he does HR and RBI's and not much else....lol. But with guys like puig, trout and Johnson that will offset his AVG. And being able to keep as many players as you want, is there really going to be a texiera in the 5th round?....I don't see that, but I could be wrong. I would just want to personally keep as much talent as I possibly could on my team....So I am down with BIG TEX... ;-D
