Longoria/Ellsbury or Cano/Gomez

Postby stlcards02 » Sun Dec 15, 2013 10:54 pm

20 Team, Pts league, keep 8. Counting stats points to pretty standard except SB = 3 instead of 1.

Longora (656) - Ellsbury (693)

for

Cano (731) - Gomez (661)

My Keepers:
1B: Goldschmidt
3B: Longoria
OF: Jones
OF: Ellsbury
Util: Encarnacion

P: Kershaw, Darvish, Corbin

Roster structure has us starting the regular nine positions plus two utilities. For comparison's sake, I posted each player pts in parenthesis.

I've always had a soft spot for Longoria, but he's been frustrating for sure. I was able to buy low on Ellsbury the year before which paid off, though can he stay healthy(relatively) for this coming season? Cano goes to Seattle, which, meh. Gomez could be a wildcard, not sure how I feel about him. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Normally I'm not a Longo fan, but Cano is getting to the magic drop off year for 2B's and is moving to Seattle where the counting stats are bound to drop. I like Gomez more than Ellsbury and I'm likely alone on that one, but I like Longo more than Cano more. SO I'd stand pat, but I wouldn't argue that hard against it.

Tough one. Both sides carry plenty of risk. I think I would stand pat though. I am not sold on Gomez yet and Ellsbury is good when he is healthy. Same goes for Longoria. I still think Cano is the best player in the deal, it is just that I don't really believe that Gomez can repeat those numbers.

Safer to stick with Longoria but if you like taking a risk that could really pay off, then go with Cano.

I more or less agree. I'm standing pat.
