Puig trade

Postby Philly_05 » Sun Dec 15, 2013 1:37 pm

My initial offer was Jose Altuve, Jose Bautista and Jordan Zimmerman for Puig. He countered with Jose Bautista and Justin Verlander for Puig. So more or less Verlander for Puig straight up as I was going to dump Jose Bautista. We get to keep 9 players each off season plus a minor league system. These are the players i'm planing on keeping at this stage. Still looking to move Jose Reyes and Jordan Zimmerman if possible. Maybe someone bites on Carlos Beltran now that he's in NY.

H2H 12 Team Category scoring
Batting - AVG, R, SB, HR, RBI, OPS, H, K
Pitching - ERA, WHIP, K, W, SV, QS, HD, BB

Keepers
C- Buster Posey
1B- Paul Goldschmidt
SS- Jose Reyes
1B- Prince Fielder
SP- Cole Hamels
SP- Adam Wainwright
SP- Matt Moore
SP- Justin Verlander
RP- Trevor Rosenthal

I think I would do it. It is risky because I am still not sure we know what Puig is but he does have a lot of upside. I think Verlander is better than he was last year but I think his time as being that dominate is over. Long term I think you win easily but next year I could see Verlander having the most value. Still think I would do it though.

You have Beltran on your bubble also? I think that I've already commented, but I would much rather have Bautista and Beltran than Moore and Rosenthal. That's not even close, IMO. It should be much easier to back fill the pitching. Hitting is at a premium right now.

Puig is an enigma. I love the kid, but unless he alters his approach he's not going to be able to stay on the field long enough to fill his potential. I am strongly against that trade. If I could move Reyes in a deal for Puig that would be the only way to interest me.

Yeah I just can't view a soon to be 37 year old player as a viable option over much younger talented players. I'm 100% solid on keeping Rosenthal. I could switch out Zimmerman for Moore. They are in the same range as far as SP's go. The NL East is much eaiser than the AL East. I attempted to trade Bautista and Reyes for Puig but he turned that offer down. He kept pushing the Verlander/Bautista for Puig deal on me all yesterday. He sent me a new offer of Posey/Bautista for Puig.

Philly bro I would throw out Rosenthal or Moore (preferably Trevor) and keep Joey Bats, you need a big bat for your OF...that's what I'd do. Pitching is easier to get trust me.

Not my Rosenthal :-D. So you wouldn't bother with Puig for either of those offers? He's trying to sweeten the deal by offering me Holland. Which does nothing for me in the keep 9 format.

Bautista is long gone LA. My keepers are setup like this at the moment.

1B- Paul Goldschmidt
1B- Prince Fielder
OF- Bryce Harper
OF- Yasiel Puig
SP- Adam Wainwright
SP- Justin Verlander
SP- Cole Hamels
SP- Matt Moore
RP- Trevor Rosenthal

Other guys still on my roster. Altuve, Lawrie, Beltran, Alvarez, Dickey, Lynn and Bailey.

Minors Keep 4
Addison Russell
Robert Stephenson
Albert Almora
David Dahl

Found a guy who I might be able to trade with to upgrade Dahl. He has A Bradley, Bundy, B Hamilton, G Polanco and Giolito. But he wasn't ready to pick one to trade last night.
