Nomar-Too risky to draft?

Postby rkenley1 » Wed Apr 07, 2004 1:24 pm

I took Nomar as my SS with my 2nd pick yesterday. What is everyones feeling on how he will turn out after DL? How risky was this? Should I find another SS to collect points during his time on the DL? Any suggestions, opinions, and/or advice is appreciated.

I think you grabbed him way to early giving his injury.

I certainly hope you mean second round pick. To help you what does the rest of your team look like? This way I can judge if you will need him. How many team are in your league? who is available on the FA list? You can stash Nomar away for a month and then enjoy him when he returns.

ok it seems as though you have a strong offense although your outfield and starting pitching could be upgraded for a ten team league. Just let me know what shortstops are available and I'll tell you which one to pick up.

just as I suspected there are plenty of good shortsops that will pass the time until nomar gets back. Although unexpectedly you put every shortstop thta has ever played baseball on that list! :-)

Any one of these four make sense for the next month or so:
1)Bobby Crosby
2)Alex Cintron
3)Julio Lugo
4)David Eckstein

Personally, I'm partial to Cintron.
Hope this helps. Stay away from Cezar Izturis as he is cancer.

you dont have to drop anyone just put nomar on the dl and pick someone up. Unless, this is a league that doesn't have dl spots in which case, drop ibanez. By the way Michael Young, I forgot to put him on the list is probably above all of those guys.
