Freese and Salas(lol) for Bourjos and Grichuk.

Bourjos could be an interesting source of SB. I'm guessing he hits eigth.

I'd expect Bourjos to be the 4th OF behind Holliday, Tavares and Craig.

That's a pretty brutal defense. My best guess is Tavares starts in the minors. Or if he plays his way on the team to start Adams is benched.

so this opens up 2B for Wong with Carpenter moving to 3B?

I think Taveras starts in the minors but is up when Craig (or someone else) inevitably gets injured. Or Bourjos struggles. I like him but he K's a lot for a non power hitter.

I think Bourjos should be the starting CF, and bat somewhere like 2nd. I think you're wasting him down at 7th or 8th. he should be batting in front of guys like Holliday and Craig.
he will be 27 in March and hasn't had his best season yet. I see him improving on what he did in 2011. he could/should have double digit HR, double digit T, and 30+ SB. I think he could be comparable to what Shane Victorino did with the Phillies.

Jhonny Peralta is close to signing now. This is a great move by the Cards if it happens. I think the Cards would have to be WS favorites if this happens. I love the Freese for Bourjos move, as Freese has been nothing more than a one year post season guy. Nothing last year. These two moves will help their offense quit-a-bit IMO.

I hope that the other owners in my NL Only leagues overvalue Bourjos this much.

Giving a steroids violator with declining defensive skills a four year deal is a "great move"?

from mlbtr: The lack of draft pick compensation helped fuel Peralta's market, tweets Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News. Feinsand, in a second tweet, isn't surprised Peralta was able to net such a lucrative deal despite being suspended 50 games for his involvement in the Biogenesis affair citing the two-year, $16MM pact the Blue Jays gave Melky Cabrera last offseason after his 50-game PED suspension in 2012.

Diamondbacks reliever (and union representative) Brad Ziegler was critical of rewarding a player suspended for PED use with such a contract. "It pays to cheat...Thanks, owners, for encouraging PED use. People really don't understand how this works. We thought 50 games would be a deterrent. Obviously it's not. So we are working on it again."

How has the Melky Cabrera deal worked out for Toronto so far?
