Can you take this dynasty team to a repeat world series?

Postby hanzo1 » Mon Oct 14, 2013 1:14 pm

The Brewers just won the NL Pennant and went to the World Series. Your challenge is to make sure they return.

The mission, should you accept it, is this: there are 16 teams, managed on the proboards, and played on ESPN. Your roster is 25 major league players and 25 minor league players, and you can keep up to the maximum number every year. There are no contracts, only a salary cap and your team's salary (based on each MLB-roster player's salary from the prior year). From the time the season ends until the rosters freeze at the start of January, the caps and roster limits are waived, so you get to do as much wheeling and dealing as your heart can handle. In January is a 5 round minor league draft for any player not on a roster who's never appeared in a major league game; afterward, there's an auction for any player not on a roster who has appeared in a major league game. If you draft a player, you must have an open spot in your minors, and if you wish to bid on someone in the auction, you must have an open spot in your majors with enough cap space to cover your bid.

Once the season starts, it's 6X6: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS; W, K, SV, HLD, ERA, WHIP. You have active 9 hitters (regular 8 and DH), 5 SP, 4 RP. Bench players are your choice. 7 DL spots. The transactions are daily, and the matchups are weekly.

Oh, yeah, one more thing: you're in the same division as the Chicago Cubs, and that owner has won the division all 6 years, and not only is he good, but the team you're taking over knocked him out of the playoffs after he won back-to-back world championships, so he's not going to like you and you've not even gotten started yet.

PM me or email me if you're interested.

This is a great league with great owners.... Just realize when you're taking over this team, you're playing for 2nd place in the division :)
