I am a member of a league called Scouting Department going into its 3rd year. This league is an extremely active, H2H category based with 2 open teams that are in very good shape. The league has transactions throughout the season and pretty much all off-season as well. The two open teams are the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox. This league also happens to be a money league as well. The Nationals cost $61 and the Red Sox cost $89.50.The payouts are very reasonable with the top 12 teams winning some amount of cash.
In addition, market value which is a new concept I have never seen in fantasy is also used in payouts, but also it helps relegate your salary caps each year.
The top 12 teams are paid out in this instance as well. This means you could not have made the playoffs, but still have improved your team's market value which measures your minors, performance, and other factors as well. There is plenty to shoot for in Scouting Department.
Here are just some of the interesting tidbits about the league:
- 40 man rosters - 30 man minors - The chance to invest in other "franchises" aside from your own - Each "owner" of a team may hire a GM to run his/her team as long as they own at least 51% of the franchise - Investing capital into other franchises allows for a certain percentage of payouts in other forms - The ability to win draft picks based on if a player is a Type A or B Free Agent should your team have one signed away - The amateur draft each off-season is 10 rounds. Also, trading is open as well.
These are just some of the unique perks this league can offer. As soon as these two franchises are filled, we will begin our off-season of trading, free agency, and the amateur draft as well. I will post the rosters in a reply to this thread. The league is scored on fantrax. If this interests you, than please pm me here and Corey the Commissioner can get you setup quickly. The sooner you join, the quicker we can begin!
