Pick some Keepers!!

Postby medium_robin » Sat Sep 14, 2013 12:50 am

End of the season is about here. I want to decide my keepers so I know who I can cut loose to really start streaming heavily.

9-team roto league, with normal 5x5 cats plus K's and OPS for hitters, L's and HR for pitchers. Potential keepers are:

Pedroia (K)
Freeman
Pence (K)
Molina
D. Brown
Buchholz
Greinke (K)
Cobb
Teheran
Medlen

I put a K next to guys that are pretty obvious keepers. I'm debating on cutting Cobb to start streaming a daily SP. I am projected to be almost 100 innings under the max for SP. Might as well stuff some categories to try to make up some ground.

As always, WHIR 100%

Thanks for mine. First, 9 teams? Okay, weird.... ;-)

Second, how many total keepers? I always prefer bats over arms, so Dom Brown and Yadi (thin position) would be keepers for me...debated Freeman but 1B is always pretty stacked... then of the SP I like Teheran and Buchholz.

Pick some Keepers!!

Thanks @Millhouse. Sorry...we keep 5. It's sort of a small league, and yes, an odd number of teams. But it's roto, so it works.

I also like to keep more bats than arms. Pedroia is still one of the top 2B (and probably playing through some injury, keeping his numbers down a little this year). Pence is hitting the snot out of the ball right now. But he's just playing for a contract. And greinke has been dominant the 2nd half.

Beyond those 3 I'm not completely sure.

You have the right idea. In a smaller league, I'd go bats over pitching for sure. I'd keep Pedroia, Molina, Freeman, Greinke and one last bat. That would probably be Dominic Brown over Pence, but I would have to think about it a little more.
