HELP!! Keeper advice...

Postby dcam523 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:45 pm

I'm in a 12 team H2H league and need some opinions on keepers. I can select 4 and have narrowed my roster down to the following options:
Chris Davis (1B Baltimore)
Yu Darvish (SP Texas)
Felix Hernandez (SP Seattle)
Mike Minor (SP Atlanta)
Matt Moore (SP Tampa Bay)
Sonny Gray (SP Oakland)

I can also keep 1 Minor League/2014 rookie and currently have
George Springer (OF Houston)
Miguel Sano (3B/SS Minnesota)

Scoring format:
Hitting:
Caught Stealing (CS) -1
Doubles (2B) 1
Errors (E) -1
Hit By Pitches (HBP) 1
Hit For The Cycle (Cyc) 5
Hits (H) 1
Home Runs (HR) 3
Runs Batted In (RBI) 1
Runs Scored (R) 1
Sacrifice Flies (SF) 1
Stolen Bases (SB) 2
Strikeouts (SO) -1
Triples (3B) 2
Walks (BB) 1

Pitching:
Balks (Bk) -1
Blown Saves (BS) -5
Complete Games (CG) 5
Earned Runs Allowed (ER) -1
Errors (E) -1
Hit Batsmen (HB) -1
Hits Allowed (H) -1
Holds (Hld) 5
Innings Pitched (IP) 3
Losses (L) -5
No Hitters (NH) 25
Perfect Games (PG) 25
Pickoffs (PKO) 1
Saves (Sv) 10
Shutouts (ShO) 10
Strikeouts Pitched (K) 1
Walks Allowed (BB) -1
Wild Pitches (WP) -1
Wins (W) 10

Is Chris Davis really the only hitter good enough to keep? With only 4 keepers I'd be pretty uncomfortable if at least 2 of them weren't hitters. I think a 3 hitter/1 pitcher split would be ideal.

Anyway, if those are really your only options, I'm going Davis, Felix, Moore, Darvish. Both your minor league options are elite, but I think I'd go Sano there. Springer had the better season but Sano has the higher ceiling.

Well, you would have to keep Davis, Felix & Darvish & feel pretty good about it. I think it's a toss-up between Minor or Moore.

Davis, Felix, Darvish and Minor with Sano would be my choice. If you have another batter worthy of a keeper selection. Or can trade Minor and another piece for a bat I would do that.

I would go with the first 4, but I'd keep Springer. I'm always in a win-now mode and he's closer to contributing for you.

You really have no other hitting keeper options here?
