Helping me pick out my keepers for next season

Postby Newkie » Tue Sep 10, 2013 12:13 pm

I am in a 10 manager standard 6x6 scoring H2H league with 10 keepers. I came in last, so I stashed away some hot prospects for next season selection. Please help me narrow down my player list to 10.
Thanks in advance

My keepers as I see it:

1B Rizzo
2B Kipnis
3B Sandoval (or Arenado)
SS Starlin Castro (I am a Cubs fan)
OF Cespedes
OF Wil Myers
OF (Yelich, Hamilton, BJ Upton)
SP Kershaw
SP Darvish
SP (Cole or T. Walker or both and not keep a 3rd OF)

Should I even Consider Yelich or Hamilton? I also have Sano (Twins) Castelanos (Tigers) Eaton (Arizona)

Thanks again

Heck should you even consider BJ Upton, the worse thing that could happen is you drop both Hamilton & Upton and they go off next year and the best thing that can happen is you drop 'em both and only end up with one of them in the draft. ;-)

1B Rizzo ;-D
2B Kipnis ;-D
3B Sandoval ;-D
SS Starlin Castro ;-D
OF Cespedes ;-D
OF Wil Myers ;-D
OF Yelich ;-D
SP Kershaw ;-D
SP Darvish ;-D
SP Cole ;-D

How can you not keep Sano - he's one of the best 3b prospects with big time power. I'd take him over Arenado very quickly. The only thing I"m concerned about is if he moved from 3b but his power is unbelievable. I smell E5 Jr in him, honestly.

Agree with Ayebatter's selections, since you have so many prospects, can you maybe do some trading at season's end before keepers are due? Just wondering. That could seriously influence my selections.

Funny about Upton and Hamilton aye batter, I could see keeping Hamilton but BJ just well sucks. :-b

I was just tentatively offered a few different trades, that might help with my keeper list.
One manager has Tulowitzki, Longoria, and Puig that they would trade for my Darvish. (picks would have to be envolved to even things out, but the players are those 3)
and another manager offered me a 2nd round pick for Cole.
I hate to take Cole, Walker, Darvish and Kershaw all in to the draft, so I would like to move one of those 3 (Kershaw is not going anywhere)
Any thoughts on if or what you would do?

Thanks

1B Rizzo
2B Kipnis
SS Starlin Castro
3B Sano
OF Cespedes
OF Wil Myers
OF Yelich
SP Kershaw
SP Darvish
SP Cole

I would move Darvish for hitter if you can but I wouldn't give up any picks.

I am leaning towards
1B Rizzo
2B Kipnis
SS Starlin Castro
3B Sano
OF Cespedes
OF Wil Myers
OF Yelich
SP Kershaw
SP Darvish
SP Cole

Is Cole over Walker a no brainer? And would it be worth trading Darvish instead and keeping Kershaw, Cole and Walker. Love Darvish, and it would certainly be nice taking Kershaw and Darvish into next season. Great one/two punch.

Thanks and what is your thought on Walker? Hoping to get a pick out of him...

I think that Longoria would be a great pickup for you so would Tulo he's a huge upgrade over a diminishing Castro...

Well, I ended up trading Kipnis away for Jay Bruce (I know some of you will hate that). I may regret it, but I did not feel like Kipnis was in my long term plans. Speaking of, I am still in a rebuilding yr. with young talent, and I have the first overall pick of the draft.
I am leaning towards Tanaka, but because I am not playing for the next yr. I can gamble with some young talent.
Should I go for Tanaka, or pick Buxton?
Also, this is my list of keepers as I type.

1B Rizzo
SS Castro
3B Sano
OF Cespedes
OF Myers
OF Bruce
and this is iffy OF Hamilton
my SP's are
Kershaw
Darvish
Cole (I hate leaving T. Walker out, but have I no choice. Dont want to take 4 SP's into the draft with Tanaka out there)

So should I keep Rizzo, Castro, Sano, Hamilton and/or Walker. Should I take buxton or Tanaka? So many questions.

Thanks

P.S. I am a Cubs fan, hence Rizzo and Castro

Which OF Hamilton is that? Josh or Billy (though Billy if that's it you could use the speed). I don't like Rizzo's long term potential because of the prospects the cubs have there. I think his leash will be short. I just hope he doesn't end up like Ike Davis, not to be like Ike heh. I suppose you can chance on Castro, but well SS is so thin, I guess that would work. I think you have to keep Walker, he's a future ace. With your pick you probably should go with Abreu or Buxton.
