My Buster Posey for his Mat Latos: Dynasty (WHIR)

Postby teaaker » Thu Aug 29, 2013 8:09 pm

I think Castro (currently on my bench) could be a top 6-7 type catcher, especially in a league like ours that counts walks. I want to trade Posey & Robert Stephenson to add pitching and Latos seems like a young, solid pitch, sitting at about that top 10 SP range; I'd also receive Archie Bradley. Can't really get a higher ranked SP due to many teams already having a solid catcher. What do you think?

I'm in a 6x6 dynasty league. We keep all players on rosters every year, no inflation or anything like that. We have 7 minor leaguers each which we have on a separate spreadsheet. Mine right now are: Joc Pederson, Robert Stephenson, Gregory Polanco, Julio Urias, Maikel Franco, Corey Seager, and David Dahl.

Interesting development. Someone in my league offered Sale for Posey. The other offer is Latos & Archie Bradley for Posey and Robert Stephenson. Thoughts?

Your pitching is fine honestly. Verlander doesn't need to be an ace for you. You have Wainwright, MadBum and Gio 3 studs when a good starting staff only needs 2 to lead it. Medlen is a perfect mid rotation starter. Liriano's success deepens your staff as well . There is no need to go get Latos. If you move Posey instead of getting Bradley I would maybe consider trying to get Latos AND a LF upgrade..which I think you could use. Else your team is set short and long term.

I think this forum is getting less and less active. I replied to 6-7+ threads that said WHIR and only got one reply, and I don't even think I answered any of MadDogs threads, he was just helping out. I've liked this forum in the past, but it seems less and less active.

Edit:
Thank you for picking this Q up in the podcast though, great advice.

As far as activity: it's fantasy football season. This happens a lot. Hang in there--there some non FFB players out here!
There's no way you need any more SP. you are more than set. Keep Posey.

I know it's fantasy football season, so I'd expect the forum to be less active overall. But when someone posts 6-7+ times on recent WHIR and gets no replies from those specific posts, it's frustrating.

Sorry for such a late response. I was newer to the forum at the time. Hadnt realized how ppl ask for help via a link. Ur team is sweet already. I dont usually put much weight into catchers but since u keep the whole team i can see ur concern. Trade Posey for as much as u can. Esp with walks counting Castro is deff nice except for his team. His oBP is one of the highest amongst Cs i believe
gl and sorry again for the turnaround time, lol
