In h2h leagues, one bench bat vs no bench bat.

In h2h leagues, do you find it better to keep one bench bat or no bench bats? Most of us would agree to minimize bench bats in a h2h league in favor of an extra SP. However, is it better to keep at least one? Any stats to back it up (the extra utility gained from a bench bat vs having a 9th or 10th SP)?

For me it depends on the quality of the bench bat vs the quality of the pitcher I'd be keeping. I tend to fluctuate during the year having a bench bat vs having an extra starter...just depends on my needs and the quality of those bench players.

For me it depends on the current health of my team. If I have some guys missing a few games I'll take a hitter on the bench for awhile, but ideally I'd like to keep a set hitting lineup in h2h and use the bench for pitching.

In keeper leagues it really depends on who your stud prospects are.
For example if you own Bogaerts, then you're carrying a bench bat whether you like it or not.

I also dont mind carrying someone like R. Davis or E, Young that I can plug in for a few steals at the end of the week.
Thats assuming you have enough SP to reach the start limit or are at least not at a disadvantage to your opponent that week
