Last big stretch run trade: how'd I do? WHIR ASAP!

Postby Millhouse » Thu Aug 22, 2013 4:34 pm

12-team mixed keeper. In 2nd place, needed an uptick in AVG/R/SB/RBI at 2B, and needed a SP (W/K) to add to Darvish, Price, Lance Lynn. Just made the following deal with last place team that's looking to reload on keepers.

I give: Utley, Bogaerts, Rex Brothers
I get: Dustin Pedroia, Gio Gonzalez

Utley will be a 16th round keeper next year for him, and Bogaerts/Brothers 22nd rounders. Sold him on idea of Brothers being the set closer in COL next year, and the great value of Utley/Bogaerts in those late rounds. And while I prob would have kept Bogaerts, I have following keeper options left (can keep three): Chris Davis 20th rounder, Cuddyer 20th, Holland 12th, Farquhar 22nd, McLouth 22nd, Robertson 22nd, Cespedes 14th....so, still good options left even after losing the keepers I lost.

Thoughts? Did I win or lose? Leave a link, WHIR. ;-D

People are afraid to trade prospects, but you have to sometimes (especially when you're competing for a championship). You made the right move.

Help with mine?

I think this was a solid trade for you. Even though you gave up a top prospect, Pedroia is an elite second baseman. Good job.

Cmon Bud, NOW is the time to sack up and force feed an Olympic style drug program down Fehr's fat throat. Save OUR game from these blatant cheaters!
