Kershaw or Goldschmidt WHIR

Postby CubsFan4Life23 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 8:15 am

I am trying to decide if I should go with this and trade away Kershaw to solidify my hitting core. I read an article recently that said if you could get a stud bat for a stud pitcher, then do it...well I may have the chance, but am still unsure if I should.

All help is appreciated. Leave a link!

Kershaw is the best starting pitcher in the league right now, but I would take a great hitter in Goldschmidt over a top pitcher in a keeper league.

Taking nothing away from Goldschmidt, but I am not trading Kershaw for anyone not named Miguel Cabrera or Mike Trout. This is the first year Goldschmidt has put up high first round elite numbers. Kershaw is money in the bank and as a safe an SP pick as there can be and there is no reason to trade him straight up unless you get a similar type sure thing in return.

Your offense is solid as is. Your pitching staff isn't that deep. If you had one more good to great arm in your rotation, yes...but since it is what it is...I'd keep Kershaw here.
