Drop Franklin for Markakis? WHIR

Postby jruffus1 » Thu Aug 15, 2013 9:25 pm

I am in a 12-Team H2H keeper league (keep 4 for their picks). I am currently 3 points behind the 6th place spot (last playoff spot) and after this week there are 2 weeks left until the playoffs. Franklin has been incredibly cold for about 2 weeks. Drop him for Markakis as a Util player?

C - McCann
1st - Rizzo
2nd - Phillips
3rd - Prado
SS - Castro
OF - Bruce
OF - McClouth
OF - L Martin
Util - Franklin

Util - Profar, Boegarts

SPs:

Bumgarner
Lester
Latos
Liriano
Cingrani
M Perez
Lackey
Cole
Wood

RPs:

J Johnson
Perkins
Farquar

I would rather have Markakis. He has been more consistent than Franklin and I would expect better numbers from Markakis the rest of the season.

I agree with this, and you have other MI in case you need to replace any of your starters. Grav Markakis.

I would. Markakis would even be an upgrade in your OF over McLouth, too, I think. What other options are there for SS, OF or 3B in case you need to make another move? And have you thought about whop your keepers are? If Profar or Boegarts aren't in your top 4 for next season you could drop one of them for another hotter batter.

A shallow 12 team league, I'd think there could be other options currently better than Markakis. Try listing some of the other top players available; I'll bet we can find more rbi/hr combo than either choice
