Deadline Deal

Postby Cooblez » Thu Aug 15, 2013 2:03 pm

Categories: Ave, R, SB, HR, RBI, W, SV, Ks, ERA, WHIP
Format: 12 team H2H, 4 Keepers (at $5 more than what you paid) + (can only keep for three years)

My Team:
C, Weiters, 1B Goldy, RIzzo 2B: Cano SS: Tulo 3B: Donaldson OF Trout, Puig, Gordon, Young Jr.
SP: Holland, Sanchez, Garza, Lynn, Cingrani, Turner, Moore, Lee, Williams, Vargas, Kelly
CL: Janssen, Nathan, Soriano

THE OFFER
I GET: Freeman $25; Upton $36; Wainwright $32; Johnson $10; Cobb $14
I GIVE: Goldschmidt ($10); Eric Young Jr. ($7); Jerome Williams ($5); Vargas ($5); Jim Kelly ($5)

Note that next year is the last year I could keep Goldy. Obviously, Williams, Vargas and Kelly are throw ins. Kid who offered it to me is in last place. I am in third fighting for the 2nd place bye.

I realize Goldy at $10 is unbelievable value, but he can only be kept for one more year. I feel like winning now is more important. Freeman is an adequate replacement and Upton gives me a nasty OF. Having a 4th closer will be huge come playoff time and Wainwright has been shacky but upgrades my rotation, as I hope will Cobb.

I am leaning towards accepting....Thoughts?

If you want to win now go for it. What would your keepers look like for next season?

These are all options:

Trout $10; CIngrani $8; Garza $5; Donaldson $5; Sanchez $14; Puig $19; Holland $8

I'll certainly keep Trout for $10 and CIngrani for $8. The rest is up in the air.

If your looking to win this season, then I see no reason not to make this deal. Goldschmidt has the best value in the trade, but your getting the overwhelming advantage in talent for this season.
