Very Tough Keeper Question - I would appreciate all opinions

Postby laughalot » Wed Aug 14, 2013 9:05 pm

NL 8 team 5x5 Keeper League

We can keep 4 players and I have 5 Keepers - One of these players must go - Which One ?

C. Gonzalez
A. McCutchen
P. Goldschmidt
B. Harper
S. Strasburg

Obviously Harper had the worst year but at only 20 years old he has the potential to be the best player of the 5. Right now I'm leaning toward letting Strasburg go as I usually don't keep pitchers due to injury concerns. That being said, cutting Strasburg is a tough call.

I'd appreciate your opinions.

At this point, I agree. Let Strasburg go. There are so many good pitchers these days, its tougher and tougher to keep any pitcher not named Kershaw.

I agree. I'd let go of Strasburg too given that pithcers are more likely to either get hurt or simply underperform.

With such few keepers unless you had a stacked staff or something and went in reverse you keep those top four bats and build your team around a stacked OF and one of the best young 1b in the game not named Crash Davis Fred Freeman etc.

I would let Strasburg go also. Too many injury concerns and its hard to trust very many pitchers long term. Harper has too much potential to not keep him, especially in an NL only league.
