Drop Bogaerts in Keeper? WHIR

Postby jruffus1 » Tue Aug 13, 2013 12:31 am

I am in a 12-team H2H keeper and I am fighting for the last playoff spot. I am currently 2 points behind the 6th place manager. I have been stashing Xander for a couple of weeks, but now it seems like he isn't getting called up anytime soon. He's basically wasting a bench spot.

Should I drop both Xander and Martin for 2 HOLD relievers?

Roster:

C - McCann
1st - Rizzo
2nd - Phillips
3rd - Prado
SS - Castro
OF - Bruce
OF - McClouth
OF - L Martin
Util _ Franklin

Bench: Boegarts, Profar

SPs:

Bumgarner
Latos
Cole
Liriano
Lester
Lackey
Wood
M Perez
Cingrani

RPs:

J Johnson
Perkins
Farquar

Yeah. Unless you have minor slots like in my keeper league, he contributes ZERO to your team right now.

Please help?

Absolutely not.

Turf Martin if you have to turf someone. Turf Farquar, who was useless 1000% this time last week and who could be as useless again in a week.

But don't for a second drop Bogarts or Profar, for that matter, whom you are surely considering, too. You bought in super low, and if you get to keep them easily, don't squander that for the chance at the playoffs.

Worst case scenario: deal Bogarts and McLouth to another owner for a better OF and then get a holds guy afterwards, but even there, unless it's J Up, I'm not racing to do it.

I would. I think your first priority is to win this year. 2nd is the plan for next year. Bogaerts is completely unproven. He may do nothing, so holding on to him if you need the spot to win now is probably not the best move. Yes, you risk giving away a possible stud, but he could also be a dud. Nobody knows. I'd make the move.

Help me please. viewtopic.php?t=463791

If you don't plan on keeping Bogaerts past this season, then I see no reason not to add a reliever. However I would not drop Martin.

You don't start all those SP do you?
You can't really afford to drop Martin as you lack any kind of OF depth.
