Trade Help - Acquiring Prado/Victorino

Postby Knights » Mon Aug 12, 2013 7:30 pm

I'm in a 16-team 6x6 H2H keeper league, keeping 6 players each season. Top 6 teams make the playoffs, and I'm currently sitting in 4th place with a 5.5-game lead on 7th place.

I've been after Martin Prado for most of the season. He's finally coming around offensively and his positional versatility (2B/3B/SS/LF) is what I value him for the most for my playoff drive - the knowledge the one guy can be my back-up for so many positions. AT the same time, I have my eye on his Shane Victorino due to his positional eligibility (LF/CF/RF). I feel that if I can add both Prado and Victorino to my roster, my offence will be set for the playoffs and I will be covered should any injuries hit.

With Prado's owner now falling out of contention I want to make one final pitch to acquire him. However, he gave up his 1st, 2nd and 5th round picks to acquire players for his failed playoff push, and has already told me that his preference is to keep the assets he has and try to trade them in the off-season to re-acquire some early-round picks... but I'm reaching out to the Cafe to help me find any player combination that I may not be seen or may have overlooked to make one final offer before our trade deadline this week!!

Both of our rosters are below. What would be a good offer that I could make that (a) won't really hurt me at any positions in my playoff push, but (b) be enough to get this other owner to change his mind and part ways with Prado And Victorino?

Note: I've been thinking of trading Cueto as I likely won't keep him next year. I'm considering using him to get Prado/Victorino... but he already has 3 higher-end SP. Plus I traded away my 3rd round pick earlier in the season, so I had kind of been counting on dealing Cueto in the off-season to get at least a 3rd rounder back from someone. But could getting Cueto involved in this help me make some progress in these trade talks?
