#1 Waiver pick to grab Everth Cabrera in Keeper League?

Postby xcutter » Tue Aug 06, 2013 11:06 am

Should I use my #1 Waiver pick to grab Everth Cabrera in a 12 keeper, 10 team league? I have been saving my #1 Waiver all season long with hopes that Buxton or Joc Pederson will become available in Yahoo. Is Everth Cabrera worth stashing for next year or a waste of a #1 Waiver in a very competitive league. BTW, I am in 9th place, so my season is over.

I wouldn't use it on Cabrera. He hasn't really proven himself other than the little over half a season he played this year. I think Buxton holds better long term value.

My concern is that Buxton or Pederson will not become available in Yahoo this year. I would hate to waste a #1 Waiver. It does not carry over to next year. I waited last year for Puig. He never became available in Yahoo. I missed out on a lot of waivers this year sitting on this #1.

Do you have some details on the league? How deep, how many teams, who is your SS, etc? I don't like Cabrera much at all, but in a very deep league he could be a solid add.

I would do it actually. I like the idea of getting one of the few SSs worth a damn in fantasy, and I really doubt Pederson is ever that valuable. And Buxton (and Appel) aren't coming this year.
