Butler or Smoak R.O.S.?

Postby StateOfGrace » Mon Aug 05, 2013 6:27 pm

I'm in a 12 team H2H 6x6 league counting OPS. I know Butler has put up better numbers for longer than Smoak and is the more established hitter. But Butler from a fantasy perspective has been mediocre. I don't see that changing before the regular season ends. Smoak's OPS has been steadily rising the past few months. I know Smoak can be very streaky but I'm pretty weak at the corners power wise (Prado at 3B) and want to go with the guy at 1B who could do some long ball damage. Thoughts?

Even though Smoak has been playing better of late, I don't have confidence that he will continue to play this well. I would rather have Butler.

Butler (dropping him would be a mistake). Power may not be there but his RBI and BA are still very solid for a second UTL or CI.
