Puig for Latos - WHIR

Postby musam21 » Fri Aug 02, 2013 3:48 pm

In a 12- team dynasty keeper league (100% keepers). In first place, 8 games ahead of 2nd place. 5x5 head to head scoring.

Offered a trade that I would receive Mat Latos and would give up Yasiel Puig.

My roster:
C - Johnathan Lucroy
1B - Paul Goldschmidt
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Adrian Beltre
SS - Everth Cabrera
OF - Mike Trout, Jay Bruce, Carlos Gomez
Util- Yasiel Puig
Bench - Eric Hosmer, Starlin Castro, Martin Prado, Xander Bogaerts, Byron Buxton

SP - Felix Hernandez, Jered Weaver, Hideki Kuroda, Shelby Miller,
RP - Addison Reed, Joe Nathan, Edward Mujica, Mark Melancon

I just picked up Cabrera this week even though I know he is going to be suspended. I'd like to keep him for trade bait next year. Also just recently picked up Bogaerts and Buxton. Previously I had streamed pitchers.

If I want to keep these prospects, I need to pick up some pitching depth somehow. I have been offered Mat Latos for Puig. Do I make the trade?

I could try to get him to throw in Anibal Sanchez as well and give up one of Prado, Melancon or Kuroda

I dont think I could give up Puig for just Latos in a dynasty trade. I would try to trade him Hosmer or Castro instead.

If you want to trade Puig in a dynasty league, you better be setting your heights higher than Latos rignt now. And since you are in first place, I would worry more about maintaining your lead than thinking about next year (or beyond). Trade Buxton or E.Cabrera for a pitcher who will help you now if you are worried about your staff or if it hurts your flexibility to continue your streaming that has gotten you to first place!

Don't do it. Ask for more if you are trading Puig.

Your most droppable player is prado FWIW if you need a SP that badly.

You probably can get someone better than Latos for Puig in a dynasty league with all the hype that is around Puig right now.

I own Puig and need pitching but no way I would trade him for Latos in my 12 team 5x5 keeper .
