Which trade is better in a keeper?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:46 pm

13 team, 23 man rosters, auction league keeper with 260 dollar salary cap and 6-8 keepers each year depending on where you finish the year before. 5x5 roto type league.

I am in 11th place and not going to finish in the money this year so I am looking towards next season and trying to acquire some solid keepers. I have been offered the following for players that I have due to having a "C" contract status which means they can't be kept next year. Basically, it's Votto, CarGo and Mujica.

Here are the 3 offers tonight:

Team 1: HIS Skaggs(2), Liriano(1), Leubke(6), Taillon(3) for MY Mujica(can't be kept), CarGo(can't be kept) and Votto(can;t be kep)

Team 2: HIS Maybin(11), Latos(29) for MY CarGo and Mujica

Team 3: HIS Puig(11), Rizzo(8), Brandon Crawford(6), Tanaka(1) for MY CarGo, Votto, AGon(38), and Gallado(24).

Would you guys do any of these deals?

I like the third offer but try to make him throw in Liriano for $1. It looks like you would be selling him a title with this deal make him pay for it a bit more I think.

you had me at Puig $11
"trading someone a championship" is always a toughie. If thats the standard way your league works and all the other contenders will make similar deals with other non contenders than I wouldn'y worry about it and take the 3rd offer

Deal 3 is the only one I would consider.

On a side note, I hate it when league rules allow for these massively one-sided "playing for next season" deals. I am struggling with it in my longtime keeper league, as guys are selling top-ten talent from 10 cents on the dollar just to raise cash for next year's auction.

Well I would redo deal 3:
Puig(11), Rizzo(8), Brandon Crawford(6), Tanaka(1)

Instead of Crawford and Tanaka I would ask for legit players and would take this. Post his roster.

First with the third offer the other guy will not budge on his offer. I have already tried to get better players but he is super high on Puig and Rizzo.

Second a fourth offer has come in today: HIS Oscar Taveras(10) and Liriano and either Skaggs or Taillon for MY Votto and Brad Zeigler.

Now what do you guys think?

Kinda like the Tavares+Taillon deal with one exception: Tavares too expensive as a rookie prospect.
