Need Help With Big Wainwright, JUpton, Gomez, Sabathia trade

Postby NCHS_1 » Sat Jul 27, 2013 3:23 am

Roto Points league. I am in second place with 106.5. The leader has 114.5.

I give Wainwright. I get Carlos Gomez, Justin Upton, Curtis Granderson, and CC Sabathia.

My roster:

C S Perez
1B Craig
2B Cano
3B Zimmerman
SS Andrus
SS/2B Aaron Hill
1B/3B Todd Frazier
OF Giancarlo
OF Carl Crawford
OF Rios
OF Will Myers
UTIL Yelich
Bench Rizzo
Bench Josh Hamilton
Bench Heyward
Bench Holliday
DL Jeter
SP Wainwright, Lee, Hamels, DL Beachy

His Roster:
C Santana
1B EE
2B Kendrick
3B Seager
SS Aybar
2B/SS Utley
1B/3B Machado
OF Bruce
OF Cruz
OF Cuddyer
OF Gomez
UTIL Puig
Bench JUpton
Bench Ibanez
DL Granderson
DL Revere
SP Fister, Sabathia, Ryu, Locke, Corbin, Iwakuma, Jacob Turner, Archer

I traded him Gomez, Kendrick, and Puig right before Gomez started tanking for Cano and Andrus.

The categories that I can pick up points in are Doubles, Triples, CG, Runs, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, and QS
The categories that I have a lot of room to pick up points in are Runs, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, and QS

I don't really like any of the guys he's giving me. And I don't know which three guys I would drop to make room. But it seems like he's giving up a lot and comparatively I'm not. What do you all think?? Thanks!

I wouldn't. Sabathia, J. Upton and Granderson I would not frankly want to waste the roster spots on. Sabathia has lost velocity and command. J. Upton, well is J. Upton and I have never understood why people continue to think he is elite. Granderson has not played much this year and even when healthy all he really does is hit a few Hrs and hit .230 something. And there will be no one on base for him to drive in nor will he score a lot of runs with the AAA team the Yanks are fielding offensively these days and that assumes his power comes back from the injury quickly.

Carlos Gomez is decent. Just not worth trading an elite SP like Wainwright for imo.

Agreed. I offered him a new trade of JUpton, Fister, Jacob Turner for Cliff Lee and Heyward. Almost positive he'll turn it down but that's ok. I'm not motivated to move one of my top pitchers for all of his garbage.

Thank you for your help on mine.
I would pass on this trade. I think Cliff Lee can still put up top 15 numbers and if Heyward can turn it around, he can put up a solid stat line the rest of the season.

Second trade would be OK. First was a bad trade for you, which you figured out on your own.

good luck

thanks for help on mine.

Thanks for the help on mine.
I wouldn't do the first one. I give Wainwright. I get Carlos Gomez, Justin Upton, Curtis Granderson, and CC Sabathia. He was giving you big names but not good players/production. Upton could be nice but he's an inconsistent strikeout machine. God knows what Granderson will do this season, and CC has a 4.5 ERA. Gomez is a nice player but Wainwright is just too good to give up for only 1 quality player that's producing.

The 2nd trade is better. I'd do it if he accepts.
