Too much for Harper?

Postby plamb23 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 1:59 pm

In a 12 team keeper, no penalty, keep forever; I'm out of the running to win this year

I give
Cutch/Price/K Jansen
I get
Harper/ Seager or Kipnis

I usually don't keep closers but considering keeping KJ or Romo
His first offer didn't include Kipnis or Seager just some low level SPs

I would love to have Harper join my Trout in my OF--I then would trade Kinsler hopefully to replace Price with a solid keeper SP

What do you think?

Since you're out of the running, I think it's a good deal if you get Kipnis instead of Seager. If it's Seager, I think I'd hold off, because I think you could do better for McCutch and Price. Thanks for your help on mine!

I prefer more of my value being in my hitters than my pitchers, so this IMO is basically a top SP and RP for a top hitter. I'd probably do it. I'd prefer to try to package Price/Jansen for Harper and keep Kinsler but have a ridiculous OF and go dumpster diving for a pitcher using your current #3 OF. Not sure if that would get the job done, but that's what I might go with.

I would ask for all 3 and do it else I would pass. Seager is a stud whether you want to admit it or not. He's not Miguel Cabrera but eventually Seager will be a top 5 3b. Plus, he plays soem other positions as well so in the short term he's more valuable than Kipper and he's also younger as well. I mean what is wrong with a 30 homer 285 3b/2b?

Thanks for the help on mine...

Can you keep as many guys as you want? I think keeping McCutcheon and Price is more value than Harper and Kipnis, personally, so I'd stick with the guys you have.

Maybe exploe the Kinsler market first to see what you can get for him? If you really can get a SP better than Price, then it's probably worth it, but as is, I would stand pat.
