Transfer Ownership Help

Postby jsphlly » Tue Jul 23, 2013 9:06 am

Hello folks. I have a 10 team H2H league, $20 buy in.

Everyone has paid but one of the managers has been inactive for 2 months now. I've told him I'm going to replace him and he has no problem with it. Has he asked to stay, obviously he would have been allowed, he paid after all. However he didn't, and he didn't ask for his $20 back, which I would not have granted at this point, 100 games or so into the season.

The problem is that he's in 5th place out of 10 with top 6 making the playoffs and a relatively strong roster. So the new owner will be in a decent position to end up in the money. The new owner would not be paying anything, we'd be taking him on primarily to avoid the dead team and ensure competitiveness.

It seems kind of unfair that he could win prize money, but also want to give him a reason to play. Any suggestions? 1st, 2nd and 3rd place win money.

I've had this happen before and what I did was keep next years fee out of the winnings. All other owners were ok with it.

If the new owner wins any money, just make sure he realizes that league fees will be withheld from payment, but applied to team fees for next season.

If the new owner wants to take over a team that is in the hunt, why not just charge him $20 to take it over? The pot grows, and everybody has skin in the game. It's only 20 bucks.
