Just acquired Chris Davis. How'd I do? WHIR! :)

Wondering how you think I did? 12-team 6x6 mixed keeper. I'm battling for 3rd place (top three win $ first half) and need power and saves to perhaps put me over the top.The deal was...

I gave: Jose Bautista & Verlander
I got: Chris Davis & Jim Johnson

Yes, I gave up a LOT here. 100% admitted. But (A) it'll take overpaying if you want Davis, (B) Davis is a 21st (!) round keeper for one more year while Bautista/Verlander can't be kept, and (C) I'm well out of it in K's and Wins, needed some power & can make up some ground down the 1st half stretch in saves with Johnson and HR/RBI with Davis...and frankly I think Verlander is in REAL trouble, maybe hiding an injury or heading to a DL stint. And while I love Joey Bats, Davis is a 5-category beast and I can't see him really slowing down TOO much. While losing JV hurts my staff on paper, I still have a top 3 of Price, Latos and Darvish (when he's off DL), and I can now drop Brothers/Parker or Billy Hamilton (been hanging on to him far too long) for some low-end waiver SP help like Stults/Kluber/Norris/Santiago/Marquis...a dual SP/RP guy like Cecil/Smyly ...or take a spec shot at Taijuan Walker, Carlos Martinez, or a potential rookie 2nd half sleeper.

Team now is:

C-Rosario
1B-Cuddyer
2B-Utley
SS-Lowrie
3B-Hanley
OF-Davis, Cespedes, Choo, McLouth.
DH-A.Dunn
BENCH: Rajai, B.Hamilton
SP-Price, Latos, Erasmo Ramirez (ugh, today sucked...will drop for waiver SP).
RP-Chapman, Nathan, Holland, J.Johnson, R.Brothers, T.Hunter, B.Parker
DL-Darvish, C.Carpenter

Any opinions would be great. Thanks. WHIR ASAP ;-D

I like it... Johnson's been a saves machine and Davis is better and younger than Bautista. Think you did well for your team needs here.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I think you overpaid. I know Davis has been a MVP so far but i think he'll slow down. His power is legit but not the avg, and Bautista isn't chop liver and now has Reyes back in front of him. Losing Verlander i think will hurt too much although i understand your frustration. He could still come around. Not the biggest Johnson fan, but he'll help you with saves not much else though. I would have taken a cheaper gamble with Brian Wilson or K-Rod to get a closing job soon. Please help.
