2 big trades, WHIR

Postby jcave24 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 12:13 pm

Working on two trades right now.

First one: I get Votto, Bumgarner, and Kenley Jansen for my Kershaw, Holliday, and Gyorko (not listed on my roster for some reason). Would require I get rid of a 1B pretty quickly, so enter the next trade...

I get Ryan Zimmerman and Michael Bourn for my Freddie Freeman and Wil Myers.

I feel like it should be a yes to both of these deals but just wanted to check with the masses to see if I'm missing something.

10 team, 5x5 with OBP instead of BA and QS in place of Wins, H2H league

C V Martinez
1B F Freeman
2b J Kipnis
3b P Alvarez
SS HanRam
MI J Segura
CI Hosmer
OF Trout
OF G Parra
OF Y Cespedes
OF J Heyward
OF Wil Myers
UTIL P Goldschmidt

P C Kershaw
P G Gonzalez
P Z Greinke
P Anibal Sanchez
P H Iwakuma
P AJ Burnett
P Mike Leake
P AChapman
P Chris Perez
DL J Cueto

Zimmerman has a shoulder issue I would look into before making this trade. I agree after getting Votto, you should tradeFreeman, but he is more valuable than that. If I was the other guy, I would take Myers and Freeman in a second for those two. First trade I give a C+ (you gave up Kershaw who is by far the best pitcher in baseball, so its amost an even trade), but the second would get a D easy. Myers and Freeman are great young talent that should bring more back if traded.

New offer is Dez Jennings and Zimmerman for Freeman and Myers. I'm considering taking that one... thoughts, anybody?

I have the same issue. Zimmerman. That shoulder is not something I would trade Myers for.

In the end:
You give: Kershaw, Holliday, Gyorko, Freeman, and Myers

and Get: Votto, Bumgartner, Jansen, Zimmerman and Bourn

Kershaw > Bum
Votto > Holliday
Myers > Bourn
Freeman > Zimmerman
Jansen > Gyorko (possibly even because Gyorko will produce when not injured)

I feel like you win 2 and lose 3. Any way of getting Bourn and Zimm for just Freeman. I do not like the idea of trading Myers now. The kid is good and will just get better. Maybe try and trade Freeman for one good OF to replace Parra. Maybe try to buy low on Giancarlo or find a nice 6 category guy like Choo or Marte. If it is not a keeper, then Myers value drops a little, but not enough to make you the winner here, I think.

I'd take the first trade, Votto is the best player in the deal and the difference between Kershaw and Bumgarner isn't crippling. I wouldn't do the 2nd trade, you can use Freeman in the CI spot until you find a better offer for him.
