Desperate for a SP. Which slacker to pick up? WHIR

Postby footballisbetter.com » Wed Jul 03, 2013 12:27 pm

I need to add another starting pitcher to my roster for now. We are capped on the amount of moves we can make throughout the season, otherwise I would just stream that spot. Who should I pick up? Or top 2 of the bunch below. Leave a link and I will hit yours.

Free Agent SP's:
Lincecum
Lohse
Ogando DL
Haren DL
Feldman
Wandy DL
Stults
Kluber
Wei Chen DL
Nolasco- and hope he get's traded to a good team

Lohse would be my first choice followed by Ogando. I like Wandy but it seems like he might still be a while from returning.

I like Stults in this situation.

Have to agree on Ogando and Lohse. Ogando will be back in a couple weeks, and I like his upside over the other DL'd guys. I'd at least keep an eye on Chen. I think he makes his first start back soon?

Hope that helps!

I think I would go with Chen. Ogando has never really stayed healthy in the starters role for any real length of time (best was 2011 for 29 starts) but is worth a flier when he gets back.

Right now I am thinking about Loshe (looked great tonight), Nolasco (looking good and should be traded to a contender) and Chen or Ogando.

I just picked up Jacob Turner in my league if you are willing to take a risk on a high upside guy. He's been stellar this year since getting called up but he's not going to get you many wins playing for the Marlins (although they were pretty good in June).

Nolasco will be traded and it will boost his value...plus he has something to pitch for I like that. I'd take Nolasco and Wandy because he will be pitching for a winner. Yep there you go. If you ahve multiple DL spots I'd stash Wandy and Ogando.
