MY: Brandon Phillips & Markakis for HIS: Tulowitzski WHIR

Postby BalooDP » Tue Jun 25, 2013 11:37 pm

Looking for an upgrade at shortstop in my lineup, owner of Tulo is willing to deal him. I know he's injury prone but the possibility of having Stanton, Cutch, Davis, Tulo, Votto, and Beltre makes my mouth water. I have Kipnis to play 2nd as well as Andrus and picked up ACab to play SS and 2B/SS positions, but would need to pick up someone to cover Markakis' spot. Just dropped Werth for ACab, could reclaim him but don't know if he will pass through waivers and I have a very low pick. Should I pull the trigger on this one, or counter-offer with something else?

Team:

C Weiters
1B Votto
2B Phillips
3B Beltre
SS Andrus
2B/SS Kipnis
1B/3B Sandoval
OF McCutchen
OF Davis
OF Markakis
OF Crisp
OF Stanton
UTIL Freese
BN: Asdrubal Cabrera

Pitching:
P Wheeler
P Cole
P Verlander
P Kuroda
P Shields
P Leake
P Liriano
P Romo
P Grilli
DL Beachy

What would you get out of FA to 'finish the trade' for your OF, did I remember and Gardner was available for this team?

Nah Gardner is owned. I would get Jayson Werth to fill the place of Markakis.

Thanks for help on mine.
I like Tulo as much as the next guy, but you're pretty solid at MI as long as Kipnis keeps it up. And even if he falls off, you're still in trouble if you make this trade. I probably wouldn't, because you need to worry about Tulo's health and replacing Markakis. And the upgrade from Phillips to Tulo isn't necessarily that great.

Thanks for help on mine.

I am going against the grain and saying do it. Tulo is awesome and sure he gets hurt, but watch Andrus's production really taper off. Do it...like someone said, pick up Werth to replace Markakis

Thanks for the opinions. Anyone else? I'm kind of torn now myself.

Is this a keeper or redraft? If this is a keeper, I say go for Tulo (he's the only keepable player mentioned). If this is a redraft forget about Tulo for this year.

I would try to wait another week and then try and do it. Its that close.

Depends where you are in standings. If you feel current team not quite good enough, then take the upside of the Tulo part of the deal. If in 1st and think team can win as is go safe route and avoid Tulo.

Help?

Still wondering if I should do this. Any more opinions guys? Werth has been hot and I feel he could have the same production as Markakis at this point. Kipnis has been better than Phillips, and Tulo will be better than Andrus and ACab. Really not sure if I should pull the trigger on this.
