It's a Devin Mesoraco birthday thread!

Which AL Central pitcher that I still don't trust is going to dominate for you today, Porcello or Masterson? (Both, naturally. Congrats.) Along with yer standard fare aces (yer Sale, yer Gio, yer Bumgarner, and I'll hopefully add yer Fernandez, yer Ryu), and a cherished rarity, the doublepuig, it promises to be an exciting day here at Rosehill Estates.

I guess it's nice to have choices at SP'er in a 24 tm league but it's easier when you have fewer options. Garza vs HOU, Holland at STL, Lackey at DET, Buehrle vs COL and 2 start Morton. And that's not even including Deduno and Estrada (DL). I picked Garza (easy), Lackey and Holland. We will see how this plays out... :-o

Starting Jose Fernandez @ARI and Trevor Cahill, who is 0 - 4 in his last 5 starts and I'm hoping can keep that trend going...

In my H2H Points League, my offense put together a very impressive offensive stat line yesterday of 2-for-31 (.065), 2 Singles, 1 R, 0 RBI, 1 BB, 8 K. Good for a total score of 0.5 PTS... Hooray offense!

Well you cant win em all. The Padres took a step backwards in their march towards another NL West crown yesterday. They'll just have to start a new streak today.

Fun fact. since I traded Pujols for Verlander/Carlos Gomez, Verlander has posted a beautiful 5.91/1.60 pitching line for me in about 50 innings .. Carlos Gomez has out hit Pujols over that time frame, same HRs, but better counting stats, and 6 SB's to boot, but i cant get over Verlander ...

Maybe its me ...
In my three leagues i also own Hamels and Grienke on a few teams. They suck. Tack on the pitcher formerly known as Matt Cain, and sad sack Strausberg, and its just not been my year for pitching.

except for Shelby Miller, and my genius for finding reliable scrubs ... of course..

Hellickson is on the bench for me today, I just can't trust him. Depending how bad he looks, he may be on the WW tomorrow.

What do you guys think about Lester?
Does he hold any value whatsoever in mixed leagues?

Seems to be regressing back to last seasons form, which is borderline un-rosterable in 12 teamers.

start Mark Buehrle tonight at home to Colorado? he has been good lately. his last 5 starts, only 1 was 3 ER. the rest were less. I'm not worried about K's or even a win, I'm just looking for good ERA/WHIP.

Unless this is a real deep league I wouldn't start Buehrle ever.

16 team league, with starting spots and bench spots totally 432 players, plus 4 DL spots available.
at this point I think I have to gamble on some pitchers to help me in ERA/WHIP. (especially since I've continued to have Jose Valverde in a starting spot :~( )
I'm 40 points out with a 4 and 6 in ER and WHIP.
I'm also currently -45 in IP limit, so I have the room to gamble.

You're completely destroying your K/9, in hopes of helping ratios from a guy who typically posts an xFIP over 4, and an ERA somewhere in the neighborhood. If I'm going to gamble and hope for ratios, I need to at least feel confident I'm getting some K's out of the deal, or potential for a Win or something. Buehlre just offers so little upside in any area right now, I don't even know that I'd start him in your league. Maybe, but I dunno.
