Dodgers/Diamondbacks fight. Greinke/Kennedy

Postby SpecialFNK » Wed Jun 12, 2013 9:55 am

so who saw everything take place last night between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks? another Dodgers fight, and one of the participants is Zack Greinke.

seems it started with Greinke hitting Cody Ross in the 5th. although I didn't see that video.
then in the 6th Ian Kennedy hit Puig, which it looks like he took off his face.
then in the top of the 7th Greinke hits Miguel Montero in the back.
then Don Mattingly decides to keep Greinke in the game to bat 2nd in the bottom of the 7th. so what happened? Ian Kennedy then threw a pitch up around Greinke's head. benches empty and there was a fight.

http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=330611119

I think Mattingly was stupid to send Greinke up to bat in the bottom of the 7th with everything that had happened. I don't think it was a surprise that Kennedy would throw at Greinke, who hit 2 Diamondbacks.

should Kennedy be suspended? if so how long?
should Greinke be suspended? if so how long?

I think they both deserve to be suspended, as they both intentionally hit a batter. but I could see Kenendy getting suspended longer.

How I saw it:

Greinke nicks Ross on pitch that was just inside no retaliation needed for this one
kennedy nails Puig in the nose looked like it got away from idk
Greinke plunks Montero in the back should have ended here
kennedy throws a 92 mph heater in Greinke's ear not sure the judges are going to like that one

Verdict 2 unintentional - 1 intentional - 1 dangerously stupid

There is no way the Diamondbacks were going to let someone get away with hitting Montero intentionally. Grienke should have known he was going get plunked for that.

No excuse for going high and inside... that is just dangerous.

Ahh there's the rub mate should LA have then put one in Goldschmidts ear the next inning for what was an intentional toss at Greinke, I think not just as I don't think the DB's were right to throw at Greinke.

Never liked the Dodgers, been fond of AZ since being stationed in the region and traveling games there each year 2000-2006. Would not blame Dodgers for doing EXACTLY THAT, offering Goldie a cowhide toothbrush. TWO fastballs at guy's heads?? The D-Bags deserve it. Oh I grew up a Tiger fan well before Gibby played there but he and Trammel were my two favs from the 80s group. I think Gibby needs a suspension too and Kennedy needs to go for 6 weeks minimum.

I don't know about that. the way I see it, it only made sense to throw at Greinke there. The problem was the location. HIt him in the thigh, make you point, move on.

No the problem was the intention.

No that wasn't making a point it was a 22 year olds idea of always having to have the last word.

Looks like Kershaw and Puig were throwing punches and Mattingly threw a coach to the ground. Suspensions?

I'm sure Kershaw/Puig suspensions are on your wish list as a Mattingly suspension is on ours. ;-)
