6/7-6/9 Cheering, Venting, & Puig Mania

.: Puig Mania :.
I drafted Yasiel Puig in my Pre-Season Minor League Draft, knowing full well he was going to be the boss of bosses. I was considering trading him in March, when his value seemed as high as it could ever be, but boy was I wrong. Here is the conversation the Cafe has been having, and is continuing to have about the new Cuban Missile. Let's all celebrate the hot start, enjoy the ride, and try and also get some decent analysis on what's going on with this huge question mark, and what to expect going forward... Brace yourselves. The Puig Memes are Coming...

Today is the day I've given up on Berkman as my everyday CI. I still think he can have a nice season, but he's out of the lineup while Adam Lind is hitting cleanup for Toronto in the same game. Today I'll stream Lind in that spot and I figure I'll take it day by day at the position until someone sticks.

Poor Dan Hudson re-tore his UCL and needs TJ all over again. Hard to imagine worse luck.

Thats a really crappy deal. He was a good young pitcher. you can pretty much consider his retired at this point..

He's 26. I see no reason why he won't return at full strength after this surgery. He was hitting 95 before it snapped again. Rehab will take a but longer, but it's basically just bad luck or a botched surgery. His first UCL lasted him 25 years, after all, so it's not like all of his ligaments are made of jello. A lot of people say, "nobody comes back after two surgeries" but I'm pretty sure 99% of the guys having a second surgery are a lot older. Soria/Wilson are 30-something relievers which already have a pretty high flameout rate. Kyle Drabek will be a good test case for this, although he wasn't all that good before his second injury anyway. Really sucks for Hudson that he's going to miss 24 months, that's brutal. He should track down that Lewis Yocum fella and give him a piece of his mind.
