Update: Nationals manager Davey Johnson confirmed that Stephen Strasburg has been diagnosed with a strained right oblique. He will see doctors in Washington over the weekend.

Strained oblique. Recovery time: anywhere from 3 minutes to 2 years.

Stephen Strasburg still said to be hopeful he can make his next start. Obliques are tricky and Nationals will be understandably cautious.


This is great news, but its always tough to trust updates with oblique injuries. They are notorious for lingering longer than players anticipate, and can keep players out of commission for a little bit or easily be re-aggrevated. Hopefully the fantasy ace is back in action for his next start, as his fantasy owners are salivating for more of his elite stats. Be sure to check back for further updates.
