How do injuries affect rankings?

Postby st3v3k4hn » Wed May 29, 2013 10:57 pm

Just wondering if there is a general rule for how injuries affect rankings. For example, say a guy is ranked 50th and he gets injured and they expect him to miss a month. Does he lose say 10 spots for each week missed? More? Less? Is there any logic that says this much time = this many spots in the rankings?

Also is there any way to look at the rankings and say ok this guy (let's say Corey Hart) was originally ranked 237 and expected to miss 2 months, now that he is almost back he should be ranked around x now? Like if it were really 10 spots a week Corey would be around 150 ROS...

Thanks!
