Any Sell-High candidates in here?

Postby DipofChoo88 » Wed May 29, 2013 10:47 am

Shin-Soo Choo
Prince Fielder
Kelly Johnson
Ryan Zimmerman
Matt Holiday
Matt Wieters
Lance Berkman
Elvis Andrus
Daniel Murphy
Jay Bruce

Clayton Kershaw
Hisashi Iwakuma
Mike Leake
CJ Wilson
Travis Wood
Doug Fister
John Lackey

Tom Wilhelmsen
Rafael Betancourt
Sergio Romo

I'm playing in a straight points league, do I have any pitcher/relievers/hitters that are performing above their level and are worth considering in a trade? Anywhere to improve the roster? My SP's I am most concerned about CJ Wilson, Mike Leake, and Travis Wood, I don't know which one will actually pan out and have a nice season.

I would say Hisashi Iwakuma is your best sell high option, but I wouldn't do it unless someone overpays. He is a Mariner, so the wins aren't always there, but he is off to a nice season. He was a guy that was a huge prospect from Japan, but he is enjoying his first solid season, so it may not be a fluke. I would keep him unless someone overpaid, but he is your best sell high candidate I'd say.

Well at this point, I think Iwakuma may be the real deal although he is on a team that won't always provide run support and W's for him, hes still currently one of the best pitchers in the league. At this point, and I'm hoping, I can make a somewhat productive move to trade Travis Wood for another bat in my lineup. I don't know how many people will buy into him as being trade worthy though.

I would consider selling high on Leake or Wood, as well as K. Johnson.

I would see what you can get for Wood. He will not keep up his early pace and I fear if you wait longer you will not get as much. I would target a pitcher like CC or someone struggling a bit that you think will come around. You might be able to get two players out of it. I like Johnson, but on a sell high basis, this is your second best option. I don't think Iwakuma will slow to the point where you will want him off your team. With that said, I saw someone say it, if you can get over value you have to take it, but I like the Mariner.
